Wednesday, November 5, 2025— Oklahomans in need of assistance have a central hub to find local support through the state’s “Be A Neighbor” portal, a program created by Oklahoma Human Services.
The platform links residents to nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and tribal entities offering a wide range of services, from food and housing assistance to child care and more.
The portal allows users to search for specific needs and finds organizations within their communities that can provide help. Registration for both individuals seeking assistance and organizations offering services is completely free.
“Be A Neighbor” was inspired by statewide town halls held in 2018 by Governor Kevin Stitt, where residents shared stories of neighbors in need and the difficulty of locating reliable resources. The program aims to strengthen community connections and provide practical support to those who need it most.
Currently, the portal features more than 900 organizations across Oklahoma, making it easier than ever for residents to access local services quickly and efficiently. Users simply select their county and the type of assistance needed to be directed to nearby organizations that can help.
The platform also encourages nonprofits, tribal entities, and volunteers to join the network, helping to expand outreach and provide support to even more Oklahomans.
For anyone unsure where to turn during times of need, “Be A Neighbor” serves as a one-stop resource to connect individuals with the services and support available in their communities.
