Tuesday, July 5, 2022 - The Sallisaw Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at Stirrup Creek Apartments Sunday night around 10:45 p.m. Stirrup Creek is located near the corner of Avalon and Maple Street (Old Highway 17).
Firefighters arrived at the scene to find heavy fire coming from the back and attic area of one apartment. They were able to extinguish the fire and contain it to the original unit only.
No injuries were reported.
Sallisaw Fire Chief Anthony Armstrong stated the fire started on the back porch of the unit and the cause has not been determined at this time.
