Wednesday, June 23, 2021 - An interstate accident Wednesday morning resulted in the death of a 76-year-old Tennessee man.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) report, Clarence Cox, 76, of Gallatin, Tenn. was driving a 2020 Peterbilt Semi and died from massive injuries sustained during the accident.
The semi left the roadway at a bridge and had to be removed by a crane causing the removal and clean-up to last for several hours.
The accident took place on Interstate 40 westbound, three-tenths of a mile west of Mile Marker 318, approximately one mile west of Muldrow. It occurred at approximately 1:50 a.m. and the scene was not cleared until around 1:00 p.m.
The OHP report lists the cause of the accident as still under investigation.
