Voter Registration Deadline Approaches for November 3 General Election

Thursday, September 24, 2026 – October 9, 2026, is the last day to apply for voter registration to be eligible to vote in the November 3 General Election, according to Sequoyah County Election Board Secretary Ruby Brunk.

Brunk said individuals who are United States citizens, residents of Oklahoma, and at least 17½ years old are eligible to apply for voter registration. However, voters must be at least 18 years old to vote.

Voter registration applications must be received by the County Election Board or postmarked no later than October 9. Applications submitted after the deadline will be processed after the November 3 election. Applications may also be submitted to a motor vehicle agency that is an official voter registration agency by the registration deadline.

Applicants will be notified in writing when their application has been processed. Approved voters will receive a voter identification card in the mail. Some applicants may receive a letter explaining why their application could not be approved. Brunk said anyone who does not receive a response within 30 days of applying should contact the County Election Board office.

The Sequoyah County Election Board reminds voters that an application must be approved by the County Election Board Secretary before an individual becomes a registered voter.

Registered voters who have moved to Sequoyah County from another county or state will need to complete and submit a new Voter Registration Application to update their registration.

New applicants may register online through the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp. A current and valid Oklahoma driver license or state ID is required for online registration. Voter registration applications can also be downloaded from the State Election Board website or obtained from a County Election Board. Applications are also available at most tag agencies, post offices, and public libraries.

If you have moved within Sequoyah County and need to update your address, you may make changes online through the OK Voter Portal or complete a paper Voter Registration Application.

The Sequoyah County Election Board is located at 110 E. Creek Ave. and is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. For questions, contact the Election Board at 918-775-2614 or sequoyahcounty@elections.ok.gov.

The November 3 General Election will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Early voting is scheduled for October 28-30 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with additional early voting available October 31 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
