Virtual auction will help provide funds for county Boys and Girls Club

Wednesday, May 3, 2023 - The Sequoyah County Boys and Girls Club invites everyone to tune in to the club's first live, virtual auction this Thursday, May 4.

The event begins at 7 p.m. with hosts Darren Girdner and Justin Pettit as they broadcast the auction live on The Mix 105.1 Facebook page.

There are several great items up for grabs that you won’t want to miss out on, such as a custom-made guitar, a shop local gift basket that includes $200 worth of gift certificates to local restaurants, a Blackstone 36’ Griddle, and a pair of 3-day passes to the Born & Raised Festival. There will be some delicious food items up for bid as well as more great baskets and packages. Also, a couple of lucky bidders will be able to stock up on a freezer full of beef! These items are only a sneak peek of what you can expect for Thursday night's event.

The Sequoyah County Boys and Girls Club has a PayPal link located on their website where individuals can pay for purchased items. The link to the website is www.bgcseq.org.

"We are extremely grateful for our community's continuous support for the Sequoyah County Boys and Girls Club. The club operates solely on grants and donations, so without this support we wouldn't be able to sustain our county club," Sequoyah County Boys and Girls Club board president Lindsie Dyer stated.

The Sequoyah County Boys and Girls Club is a non-profit after-school and summer educational program. The organization serves children ages 6–18 and provides a safe, trusting, and fun environment for children while parents are working.

The club helps youth navigate life’s pathways by enriching their knowledge, increasing community awareness, and teaching them how to better apply healthy lifestyles.

"In addition to community support, I want to thank the club's board of directors, CEO, club director, and caring club staff, who all go above and beyond for our county youth. It takes a village; however, I am extremely proud of the village we have here in Sequoyah County," Dyer added.

So on Thursday, May 4, take some time to sit back, relax, and tune in to bid on some fantastic items while supporting a great cause.
