Friday, August 19, 2022 - The 4th annual Vian Trail Run is set to take place at Armstrong Park, just one mile north of Vian on August 27. This year’s event will feature an in-person paved fun run/walk, a 5K, a costume contest, and a virtual 5K.
This year’s race theme is "Summer Beach Party" plus there will be a costume contest. So, put on your shades and favorite Hawaiian shirt for a chance to win some great prizes.
The race is free to members of the Cherokee Nation Public Health Wings program but is also open to non-members with a fee. The 1K fun run-walk is $10 a person, and both the in-person and virtual 5K trail runs are $20 a person.
Those who attend in-person will have the opportunity to win prizes during the race. Medals will also be awarded to the top three age groups.
The timeline for race day includes:
6:00-6:45 a.m.-Packet Pickup/Race Day Registration
7 a.m.-1K Fun Run/Walk
7:30 a.m.–5K Trail Run (In-Person)
The virtual 5K begins August 27 and will continue through September 3. For questions on how to post virtual 5K results, email pauline.tatur@cox.net.
Registration for all races will end on August 26 at 11:59 p.m. All proceeds raised will benefit the Vian Community Foundation.
