Monday, May 15, 2023 - Failure to register as a sex offender in Sequoyah County led to the April 25 arrest of a Vian man.
Zane Travis Allison, 27, could face up to five years in prison and/or a fine of no more than $5,000 if he is convicted.
According to a probable cause affidavit, a Sequoyah County sheriff’s deputy learned March 27 that Allison was in custody at the Sequoyah County jail and that he was supposed to register as a sex offender but had not done so.
The Sequoyah County sex offender registrar told the sheriff’s office that she had a telephone conversation with Allison on March 27, when he told her he was at a rehab facility and that he was planning on leaving soon.
Allison asked the registrar if he could stay in the same place he had been before. Wilson told him that was fine, but he needed to let her know when he left the facility because he had three days from that point to register at the address he was asking about.
