Friday, June 10, 2022 - Authorities have now confirmed that two people were killed and one hospitalized in a shooting Friday morning in Vian. Initial reports indicated that the incident was a triple-homicide but one of the individuals involved has survived.
According to Sequoyah County Sheriff Larry Lane, the sheriff’s office along with the Vian Police Department responded to a reported shooting at a Vian resident Friday morning at about 7:30 a.m.
At the scene, officers found one male and one female deceased and one other male with an apparent gunshot wound to the face.
Several neighbors reported hearing gunshots and made calls to the police.
"There has been an ongoing feud between the involved parties and the deceased male was recently arrested in an altercation at this same residence and also had a protective order filed against him by the injured male," Sheriff Lane stated.
The injured male was transported to a Little Rock hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
"Since the parties involved are native, the FBI is now working the case. Names of the involved parties are not being released yet," Sheriff Lane added.
