Wednesday, December 22, 2021 - Two women were killed in an accident that occurred Tuesday afternoon on Highway 59 approximately six miles south of Stilwell near the Bell community turnoff.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), Jolene Brown, 32, of Stilwell, and Angel Vann, 19, of Tulsa, were both pronounced deceased on the scene.
The women were passengers in a 2021 GMC Acadia driven by Dustin Brown, 20, of Stigler. Brown was transported by Pafford EMS to NHS in Stilwell with head and arm injuries. He was treated and released. Another passenger in Brown’s vehicle, Hayden Randall, 21, of Stigler, was transported by 1st Flight to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa where he was admitted in critical condition with head, leg, arm, and internal/external trunk injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle, Jimmy Branham, 17, of Sallisaw, was transported by Pafford EMS to NHS in Stilwell with head injuries. He was treated and released. Branham was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup.
Witness stated that Brown attempted to turn in front of Branham and was struck.
According to the OHP, the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
