Monday, June 27, 2022 - Independence Day is only a week away, leaving many cities and towns across the area preparing for the big celebration.
The Vian Community Foundation will hold this year’s fireworks extravaganza on July 1 at the Vian High School football field. The group will honor their favorite sons and daughters around 8:00 p.m., with fireworks following after dark.
This year’s recipients of the Vian Community Foundation Sons and Daughters awards are Trisha Coffman, Amie Remer, Bunker Rose, Gary and Deb Wright. The Mayor’s choice will be awarded to John and Susan Ford.
The Roland Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual Iron Mountain Festival at Roland Park on Saturday, July 2 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. There will be vendors, games, bounce houses, giveaways, food, and much more at this year's event. A spectacular fireworks show will take over the sky at dark, which will conclude the evening’s events. You could win a 54 inch Hustler Raptor zero turn mower from Taylor Rentals and a $1,000 shopping spree from The Rustic Cabin.
The Muldrow VFW invites the community to join in on their July 4 celebration on Saturday, July 2. Hot dogs, hamburgers, and watermelon will be served at 6:00 p.m. followed by fireworks at dusk.
The Webbers Falls Fire Department will be hosting a community wide fireworks display on Monday, July 4. The show will start at dusk and will be held in the park.
The Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual July 4 celebration at the Sallisaw High School complex starting at 7:00 p.m. Come out and enjoy fun and food for the entire family, with activities for the kiddos provided by area churches. Fireworks will fill the night sky at dark. The Mix 105.1 will be on hand playing patriotic music prior to the start of the fireworks. Personal use of fireworks is allowed with the city limits of Sallisaw between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and midnight on July 1 - 4.
