Tidy Up Tenkiller is looking for volunteers

Wednesday, April 20, 2022 - On Saturday, May 7, Lake Tenkiller will be hosting their "Tidy up Tenkiller" event from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tidy Up Tenkiller is a community-generated effort that takes place twice a year to sustain Lake Tenkiller’s natural beauty.

Over the years, natural disasters and human negligence have taken a toll on nearby rivers and lakes. The reason for the clean-up event is to restore the originality of the waters and shorelines within the community we live in.

Volunteers are needed to assist in picking up trash and debris in three designated areas. Those areas are Tenkiller State Park, Tenkiller Lake, and the Illinois River. All volunteers will be provided with gloves, bags, safety gear, and lunch.

Tidy up Tenkiller is a joint initiative between the Greater Tenkiller Area Association (GTAA) lake clean-up committee and the Lake Tenkiller area community organizations and residents.

If you would like to volunteer, you can register at or visit the Greater Tenkiller Area Association Facebook page.
