Cory Dale Masterson, Jeffery Curtis Collins and Austin Wayne Gallagher
Friday, March 18, 2022 - Three men, Cory Dale Masterson of Sallisaw, Jeffery Curtis Collins of Muldrow and Austin Wayne Gallagher of Muldrow were charged March 8 with conjoint robbery, court records show.
The three could each face up to 50 years in prison if they are convicted.
On Feb. 3, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in the case, a Sequoyah County Sheriff's deputy was dispatched to the Dollar General store at 108981 State Highway 64B in reference to a robbery.
On his way to the scene, the deputy learned from dispatch that three males had entered the store and one of them snatched a stack of money from the clerk who was quickly able to retrieve the cash and secure it in the safe.
The three men, identified as Masterson, Collins and Gallagher, then headed north on Hwy. 64B.
The store clerk said the suspects were intoxicated when they entered the store. The three men went to the store’s refrigerated section to get beer. When the clerk left the office with money to be placed in the safe, he said Collins approached him, saying, “I just want to shake your hand.” The clerk backed away, but said Collins cornered him and took the money from his hand. The employee was able to retrieve the cash moments later.
Returning to the store later, the deputy began reviewing video camera footage, which showed the three entering the store, and he was able to positively identify all three men.
About 20 minutes before the attempted store robbery, two other deputies were dispatched to the scene of an assault and battery and the three suspects in that incident were identified as the same men who had tried to rob the Dollar General.
