Sunday, August 8, 2021 - A Sunday evening ATV accident injured three Sallisaw residents.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) Lacee Poindexter, 31, of Sallisaw was driving a 2016 Honda Pioneer when she lost control. The accident occurred at 6:19 p.m. on East 1060 Road and North 4665 Road approximately two miles north and one mile east of Sallisaw in the Central area.
Poindexter was transported by private vehicle to NHS-Sequoyah in Sallisaw. She was treated and released with an arm injury.
Two juvenile males were seriously injured in the accident.
A 12-year-old Sallisaw boy was transported by Life Flight to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was admitted in fair condition with head injuries.
A 13-year-old Sallisaw boy was transported by First Flight to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa where he was admitted in critical condition with head injuries.
The initial OHP report lists speed as the cause of the accident and states that seatbelts were not in use.
