ree

Wednesday, July 23, 2025 —The 81st Annual IPRA Championship Sallisaw Lions Club Rodeo is set to ride into town July 31 through August 2, bringing with it three unforgettable nights of rodeo action and entertainment at the Sallisaw Rodeo Grounds.

Hosted by the Sallisaw Lions Club, this annual summer event has long been a staple for both locals and visitors. The action starts nightly at 8 p.m. with all the rodeo classics, including bull riding, saddle bronc, and barrel racing, plus family favorites like wild horse races, pony rides, and the ever-popular mutton bustin’ for the little ones.

The festivities get underway on Thursday evening with a rodeo parade starting at 5:30 p.m. in downtown Sallisaw. Lineup for the parade begins at 5 p.m.

When the last ride is done and the dust begins to settle, the spotlight shifts from the arena to the stage, where live musical entertainment will keep the energy going all three nights.

Thursday night features a double performance from local favorites Emily Hollingshed and Wyatt Shumate, whose blend of country roots and modern flair sets the perfect tone for opening night.

Friday night will amp up the tempo with Kanton Teen and The Penny Pickers, who deliver a lively mix of bluegrass and Americana.

Saturday night, the action continues off the dirt and onto the stage with Tara & the Gift Horses, whose signature mix of country grit and rock energy will bring the rodeo to a roaring close.

Before the music begins on Saturday, the spotlight will shine on a special moment: the crowning of Miss Rodeo Sallisaw, honoring poise, horsemanship, and hometown pride.

Admission remains family-friendly, with tickets priced at $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6–10, and free for children 5 and under.

Whether you’re there for the music, the barrel racing, or simply the experience of a true small-town rodeo, the Sallisaw Lions Club Rodeo promises unforgettable memories for the entire crowd.
