Teen Dating Violence Awareness Webinar Set for February 12

Saturday, January 31, 2026 — The Sequoyah County Coordinated Community Response (CCR) and Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) are inviting parents and caregivers to take part in an upcoming online discussion focused on teen dating violence and healthy relationships.

“Love Should Feel Safe—Talking to Your Teen About Dating Violence” will be held on Thursday, February 12, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. CST via Zoom. The virtual event is designed to help parents feel more confident and prepared when discussing relationships, boundaries, and warning signs of abuse with their teens.

Organizers say the goal is to encourage open, honest conversations and to equip families with tools to recognize unhealthy behaviors early. The session will cover how to identify red flags of dating violence, how to create a safe space for teens to talk about their experiences, and how to provide meaningful support if concerns arise.

“Love should feel safe” is the central message of the event, emphasizing that healthy relationships are built on respect, trust, and communication, not control, fear, or manipulation.

Speakers for the evening include Sarah Ridinger, Chandra Hudson, and Kaila Hopkins, who will share insights, personal experiences, and resources to help families navigate these important conversations.

The event is free, but registration is required. To register, visit the Eventbrite page at:https://www.eventbrite.com/e/love-should-feel-safe-talking-to-your-teen-about-dating-violence-tickets-1981864884219?aff=oddtdtcreator.
