Saturday, July 29, 2023 - At approximately 4 a.m. Saturday morning a Roland police officer stopped to check on a blue car that was parked on the side of the road on Ray Fine Boulevard.
According to reports, an armed suspect left the vehicle and fired approximately eight shots at the officer when he exited his patrol unit. The suspect then fled into the woods.
Roland police have just confirmed that they have "a person of interest" in custody. No identity has been released at this time. Authorities stated that there were no injuries involved in the incident.
