Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library to Host “Meet Our Heroes” Community Event

Tuesday, May 26, 2026 —Community members will have an opportunity to meet some of Sequoyah County’s everyday heroes during the upcoming “Meet Our Heroes” event planned for Friday, May 29.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. in the west parking lot of the Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library, giving children and families a chance to interact with local first responders, public safety officials, and community organizations while learning more about the services they provide.
Representatives from the Sallisaw Police Department, Sallisaw Fire Department, Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office, Pafford EMS, Cherokee Marshals, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, People Inc., People Helping, and the Sequoyah County Health Department are expected to participate.
In addition to meeting local heroes, attendees will also be able to visit informational booths hosted by community partners in recognition of World No Tobacco Day.
The event, hosted by the Eastern Oklahoma Library System, is open to the public and will promote community engagement, public safety awareness, and healthy living in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.
The Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library is located at 101 E. Cherokee Ave. in Sallisaw.
