Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library Offers Full Schedule of June Activities


Friday, May 29, 2026 —Summer is shaping up to be a busy season at the Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library, with a full calendar of programs and activities planned throughout June for children, teens, adults, and families.


The library's Summer Reading Program will feature a variety of special events, educational programs, crafts, and hands-on activities designed to keep residents engaged and entertained throughout the month.


The month begins June 1 with Paint with Linda, an adult craft program scheduled from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Registration is required, and the event is currently on a waitlist.


Young children will have the opportunity to enjoy a special Storytime Petting Zoo on June 2 at 10:30 a.m. The unique program will feature a traditional story time followed by a small petting zoo outside the library. Following the event, People Inc. will host a Straw Rockets activity at 11:30 a.m.


Children ages 6-11 can participate in Kid Science each Thursday throughout the month, where they will explore STEM-related projects and hands-on learning activities.


Several family-oriented Summer Reading Program events are also scheduled, including Inspryal Circus at the Wheeler Event Center on June 5, Dino Magic by Funky Monkey Events on June 12, Jurassic Meet and Greet on June 18, and PAWsitively Wild on June 26 at the Sequoyah County Fairgrounds. The animal-focused program will allow attendees to meet and learn about exotic animals.


Adults and anyone looking to increase their technology skills can attend Tech 101 classes on June 6 and June 20. The workshops are designed to help participants better understand modern technology and answer questions about digital devices and applications.


Teen programs include Board Game Nights on June 8 and June 22, along with Crafty Teens activities on June 17 and June 24. Participants will have opportunities to create their own book bags and dinosaur-themed posters while spending time with friends in a fun environment.


Weekly Storytime sessions for children ages 0-5 will continue throughout June every Tuesday, featuring stories and crafts designed for young readers.


People Inc. will also host several community activities at the library throughout the month, including DIY Maze in a Bag, Coffee Filter Parachute Guy, Tiny Grass creations, and Art of Bread projects.


Additional events include an arts and crafts class on June 13, a free Retirement Education Workshop on June 27, and The Tubbs: After Hours program on June 29.
