Saturday, September 6, 2025 – Libraries are more than just a place to borrow books; they’re community hubs where people of all ages can learn, create, and connect. The Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library is proving just that with a full lineup of engaging programs scheduled throughout September.
The month kicks off on Tuesday, September 9, with two events: Storytime for children ages 0–5 from 10:30 to 11 a.m., and Teen Dungeons and Dragons from 4 to 5 p.m. for ages 12–18. Storytime introduces young children to books, rhymes, music, and other literacy-based activities, while the Dungeons and Dragons session offers a fun, in-person role-playing experience open to beginners.
On Wednesday, September 10, the library will host a Book Review Luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Branch Manager Bethia Owens will review The Ladies’ Room by Oklahoma author Carolyn Brown. Lunch is free, but attendees are asked to RSVP by calling 918-775-4481.
Children ages 6–11 can take part in Kid Science on Thursday, September 11, from 4 to 5 p.m., with hands-on STEM activities designed to make learning fun.
An Arts and Crafts Class is scheduled for Monday, September 15, from 4 to 5 p.m. Blake Stewart will share gourds grown on his farm, discuss their cultural history, and guide participants in decorating their own gourds. The program is open to teens and adults.
Regular Storytime sessions will continue on September 16 and 23, while Teen Dungeons and Dragons will return on September 23 from 4 to 5 p.m.
Additional Kid Science workshops are planned for September 18 and 25, offering more opportunities for children to explore science, technology, engineering, and math through interactive projects.
All events will be held in the meeting room at the Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library.
For more information about these and other programs, contact the library at 918-775-4481.
