Sequoyah County Resource Network Prepares for 11th Annual Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner

Sunday, November 2, 2025 - The Sequoyah County Resource Network is once again preparing to host Sequoyah County’s 11th annual free Community Thanksgiving Dinner, offering a warm and welcoming celebration for anyone wishing to enjoy a holiday meal among friends and neighbors.

The event will take place on Wednesday, November 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sallisaw Middle School Cafeteria, and all community members are invited to attend at no cost.

Organizers say their goal each year is to ensure that every guest feels valued and cared for. Visitors will be greeted at the door, seated comfortably, and served their meal tableside, allowing families and individuals to simply relax and enjoy the fellowship of the day.

Guests can look forward to a full Thanksgiving feast, featuring turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans, and rolls. Musical entertainment will also be provided, adding to the festive holiday atmosphere.

To help ensure transportation is not a barrier, KATS will offer free rides to and from the event for those living within Sallisaw city limits.

It is important to note that carry-out meals will not be available until 12:30 p.m. This policy helps ensure that those dining in person have access to the full meal first.

In addition, the organization is seeking community support in the form of desserts, volunteers, and monetary donations. Community service hours will be provided to volunteers who assist during the event or with cleanup afterward.
