Sequoyah County Fair Returns September 4–6

ree

Thursday, August 21, 2025 - The Sequoyah County Fair is set to return this fall, continuing a long-standing tradition that brings together neighbors, families, and youth from across the county to celebrate hard work, creativity, and community pride.

For generations, the county fair has served as a showcase of local talent, featuring homemade pies and homegrown produce, as well as photography, crafts, agricultural mechanics, and educational exhibits. More than just a competition, the fair serves as a poignant reminder of the values and connections that make small-town Oklahoma so special.

This year’s fair will take place September 4, 5, and 6 at the Sequoyah County Fairgrounds, offering three full days of activities, contests, and family fun.

The fair kicks off on Thursday, September 4, with check-in for non-perishable indoor exhibits from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Later in the day, 4-H members will face off in the always-popular Food Showdown.

On Friday, September 5, check-in for perishable indoor exhibits runs from 7:30 to 10 a.m., followed by judging at 11 a.m. Exhibits will then be open to the public from 1 to 6 p.m.

Saturday, the busiest day of the fair, begins at 7:30 a.m. with exhibits open for public viewing. At 10 a.m., livestock check-in begins, followed by the 4-H Cupcake Wars later in the morning. The Livestock Show is set for noon, with showmanship competitions to follow. Events include 4-H and FFA Junior Showmanship for ages 8–18, Peewee Showmanship for children 7 and under, and Alumni Showmanship for former participants.

All indoor exhibits must be picked up between 3 and 4 p.m.

With something for everyone—whether you’re competing, exhibiting, or just enjoying the sights and sounds—the Sequoyah County Fair remains a highlight of the fall season.
