Sequoyah County Communities Preparing for Independence Day Celebrations

Sunday, June 14, 2026 — As the nation prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday, communities across Sequoyah County are planning fireworks displays and family-friendly events for the Independence Day holiday.

The celebration begins early in Marble City, where the town will host a fireworks and veterans appreciation ceremony on Saturday, June 27, at 6 p.m. The event will feature food vendors, food trucks, and live music, along with a special ceremony honoring local veterans.

On Saturday, July 4, celebrations continue across Sequoyah County. In Webbers Falls, a golf cart parade is set to be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Webbers Falls City Park on River Road. Participants are invited to decorate golf carts, side-by-sides, Razors, bicycles, and scooters for a festive parade route around the park. Candy tossing is encouraged, and prizes will be awarded for best decorated entries. Organizers are asking participants to RSVP or contact Tia Shelby at 918-519-8524 for more information.

In addition, on July 4, the West Tenkiller Fire Department will host its Independence Day celebration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 446027 E. Lakeview Drive near Gore. The event will include food, fellowship, and family activities in support of the volunteer fire department. Residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy the celebration.

At Lake Tenkiller, the annual fireworks display will light up the sky at dusk, approximately between 9:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The show reflects across the water and can be viewed from shoreline locations such as Tenkiller State Park or from boats on the lake. Admission is free.

On Sunday, July 5, the City of Sallisaw will host its Independence Day celebration at the sports complex, which is a change from its original venue. Local churches will be on hand with activities for children, and residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the show that will begin once the sky is dark.

If there are any additional Fourth of July events, festivals, or celebrations not listed, community members are invited to share the details in the comments so others can join in and take part in the festivities.
