Monday, April 13, 2026 — With spring in full swing, Sequoyah County residents in District 2 will soon have a chance to freshen up their properties as the annual cleanup event returns April 20–21.
County officials are once again providing multiple dumpster locations throughout the district, making it easier for residents to dispose of unwanted items and help keep their communities clean.
This year’s cleanup sites will be spread across the area, including west of Vian near the gravel pit, Marble City just west of the railroad tracks, the West Tenkiller Fire Station, Blue Water Storage across from Blackgum Baptist Church, the Steve Owens Sports Complex in Gore, and Pier 7 in Sallisaw.
The two-day event is part of an ongoing effort to promote cleaner neighborhoods and provide a convenient option for residents to get rid of debris and household waste that may otherwise be difficult to dispose of.
Officials encourage residents to take advantage of the opportunity and to be mindful of proper disposal practices while using the dumpsters.
For more information about the District 2 cleanup, residents can contact the county barn at 918-773-5281.
