Saturday, November 8, 2025 – Families across eastern Oklahoma will soon have the chance to celebrate the holiday season in a calm and welcoming environment as the Pervasive Parenting Center hosts its annual Sensitive Santa events this December.
Sensitive Santa is designed especially for children with autism, sensory sensitivities, or other disabilities who may find traditional holiday visits too overwhelming. With reduced noise, low lighting, and scheduled appointments, each child is given the time and comfort they need to enjoy meeting Santa without pressure or long lines.
Pervasive Parenting Center Director Kodey Toney stated, “The goal of this annual event is to make sure every child is able to experience the magic of Christmas because every child deserves to enjoy the holidays in a way that feels safe and joyful for them.”
The holiday tour begins in Tahlequah on Thursday, December 4, at 6 p.m., where Santa will welcome families inside The Local Bank Chapman Center. He will then make his way to Wilburton on Tuesday, December 9, at 6 p.m., followed by a visit with children in Stigler on Thursday, December 11, at 6 p.m. The celebration continues in Sequoyah County on Tuesday, December 16, at Carl Albert State College in Sallisaw starting at 6 p.m., before wrapping up in Poteau on Thursday, December 18, at 5 p.m.
Each stop will provide a festive setting tailored to the needs of participating children, giving families the opportunity to take photos, share wish lists, and enjoy the season together.
Appointments are required, ensuring each child receives a personal and comfortable visit. Families interested in attending are encouraged to secure a time slot early, as spaces are limited and fill quickly each year.
To schedule an appointment or learn more about Sensitive Santa, families can contact Kodey Toney at 918-647-1255 or email ktoney@pervasiveparentingcenter.org.
By spreading joy in a sensory-friendly setting, Sensitive Santa continues to make the holiday season brighter and more inclusive for children across the region.
