Sallisaw School Board hires girls basketball coach


Friday, June 25, 2021 - The Sallisaw Public Schools Board of Education agreed to hire a new high school girls basketball coach during a special meeting Wednesday.


The board approved the decision to offer Greg Scott the position on a two-year temporary contract for the 2021-22 school year.


The panel tabled a decision on hiring a high school boys and girls soccer coach.


In other business, the board members agreed on the hiring of Emily Dodd as a pre-Kindergarten assistant at Liberty Elementary School and they tabled the decision on hiring an English teacher for the high school. The board also accepted the resignation of Candy Rae, an assistant Kindergarten teacher, who was hired by Sallisaw Public Schools at the board's May meeting. Rae's husband took a job in Ohio and she had to decline the SPS offer, Superintendent Randy Wood said.
