Sallisaw Police Department Partners With Local Agencies, Resulting in 16 Arrests

ree

Sunday, November 16, 2025 — After a recent rise in burglaries and vehicle thefts, the Sallisaw Police Department launched a targeted crime-suppression effort with help from the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office and the District 27 Violent Crimes & Drug Task Force. Together, officers increased patrols and focused on the areas hit the hardest.

The operation made a big impact. Officers made 16 arrests, recovered several stolen firearms, and cleared multiple burglary cases.

During the effort, officers also stopped an active burglary in progress. Two suspects were caught after trying to run, and two others were found hiding in thick woods thanks to a drone equipped with thermal imaging.

The Sallisaw Police Department appreciates the teamwork from all partnering agencies and remains committed to protecting the people of Sallisaw and the surrounding community.
