Tuesday, April 14, 2026 — The Sallisaw Now Coalition is hosting a drug take-back event on April 25 from 9-11 a.m. at Cliff’s Pharmacy in Sallisaw. The event is open to the public and offers a secure opportunity for individuals to safely discard unused, unwanted, or expired medications.
Improper disposal of medications can lead to accidental misuse, environmental harm, and increased risk of substance abuse. Events like this aim to reduce those dangers by giving community members a responsible way to clean out their homes.
In addition to medication disposal, attendees will receive free resources designed to promote safety and awareness. Supplies available while they last include Narcan, lock boxes for secure medication storage, Deterra bags used for at-home drug deactivation, and a variety of educational materials.
Organizers encourage everyone to take a few minutes to check their medicine cabinets and bring any unused prescriptions or over-the-counter medications to the event.
By participating, residents can help protect their families, prevent misuse, and support a healthier, safer community.
Cliff’s Pharmacy is located at 505 E. Redwood Avenue in Sallisaw.
