Wednesday, May 5, 2021 - Sallisaw Main Street is sponsoring band night every Thursday in May and June at the Pocket Park on the corner of Oak Street and Cherokee Avenue in Sallisaw.
Charlie Wilson and his band will perform from 7-9 p.m. this Thursday, May 6, and Borrowed Money will take the stage May 13. The Black Diamonds band is scheduled to perform May 27.
Sallisaw Main Street is still needing musicians to perform May 20 and June 3, 10, 17 and 24, said Katie Napier, one of the event organizers.
Napier said the goal behind the concerts is to give Sallisaw residents something to do now that COVID-19 restrictions are being eased and more people are getting out and about. “We just wanted to have a weekly event to promote businesses downtown and bring people out,” she said.
