Sallisaw City Clerk Dianna Davis Recognized by Oklahoma Municipal Alliance

Dianna Davis, Sallisaw City Clerk, was recently honored by the Oklahoma Municipal Alliance with the Drake Rice Customer Service Award. Presenting the award is Keith Skelton, Sallisaw City Manager and President of the Oklahoma Municipal Alliance.

Friday, April 30, 2021 - The Oklahoma Municipal Alliance (OMA) recognized Dianna Davis, Sallisaw City Clerk, as the recipient of the association’s Drake Rice Customer Service Award at the 2021 Public Power Conference in Norman, OK.

Established in 2017, the OMA award recognizes individuals who best exemplify the qualities of a true customer service professional. It is named for Drake Rice, long time Director of Member Services for the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority and former city manager in Oklahoma communities.

City officials state that Davis is known throughout city hall for her efforts to put the customer first while having the city’s best interests at heart. As a consummate customer service professional, she always gives her best and expects the same from others, according to City Manager Keith Skelton.

Joining the city in 1986, Davis worked her way up, becoming the City Clerk in 2010.

"She is the ultimate representative of the city. Even within her role as City Clerk, she is heavily involved in customer service, both in person and over the phone. Her efforts consistently focus on weighing every side of a situation to ensure the outcome is fair and accurate, all while providing the customer with a positive experience. Whether she is dealing with utilities, the cemetery, employee issues, or keeping the City Manager and City Council in line, she knows what needs to be done and has done it, day in and day out, for 35 years.," Skelton said.

“I was very shocked, and humbled, at receiving this award because there are so many other deserving individuals all across our state. This award is not just me. We work together as a team at the City and that is what makes us successful. I couldn’t do what I do every day, if it wasn’t for everyone else," Davis said. "This award means so much and I consider it an honor to have received it.”
