Friday October 24, 2025 — The Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce held its October membership meeting on Wednesday, October 22, at the Old Sallisaw High School Event Center. The meeting featured two special check presentations, recognition of the Chamber’s Member of the Month, and several community announcements.
Masonic Lodge #120 presented a $3,000 donation to the Sallisaw Culture and Community Initiative (SCCI). SCCI Chairman Tom Stites and board members accepted the contribution, which was raised through proceeds from the lodge’s pancake breakfast.

In a surprise presentation, Cherokee Nation’s Daryl Legg also presented a $3,000 donation to the SCCI, further supporting the organization’s efforts to promote cultural and community development in Sallisaw.

Masonic Lodge #120 was recognized as the Chamber’s Member of the Month for October. Chartered in 1897, the lodge laid its first cornerstone on July 22, 1911, at the site now occupied by Sallisaw City Hall, and placed a new cornerstone in 1960 at its current location, 109 E. Redwood. The lodge continues to support local schools through scholarships, recognition programs, and senior essay contests, while remaining actively engaged in community service.
Chamber officials also announced several upcoming community events, including Halloween on Elm Street on October 31 from 5 to 7 p.m., the Red Autumn Art Festival from October 31 to November 1, and the Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner at Sallisaw Middle School on November 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
