Sallisaw Chamber Announces Kenny Moody as Next Executive Director

Monday, July 6, 2026 —The Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce is entering a new chapter with the appointment of Kenny Moody as its new executive director, following the retirement of longtime Executive Director Marty Green.

The Chamber's Board of Directors announced Moody's selection, highlighting his professional experience, collaborative leadership style, and commitment to strengthening relationships throughout the community. As a longtime resident and community leader, Moody has served in several roles, including as a Sallisaw city commissioner, and he brings a passion for supporting local businesses and promoting continued growth in the area.

Moody stated, “I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as the next executive director of the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce. I don't take this responsibility lightly, and I am excited to begin serving the businesses, organizations, and people who make our community so special.”

One of Moody’s first priorities will be meeting with Chamber members, listening to their ideas, and learning how the organization can better serve businesses of all sizes. He also emphasized his commitment to open communication, community involvement, and building on the Chamber's existing foundation while continuing to promote Sallisaw as a wonderful place to live, work, visit, and invest.

“Businesses, schools, nonprofits, civic organizations, and community leaders each play an important role in shaping the future of Sallisaw. My vision is to build upon the strong foundation already in place while finding new ways to serve our members, strengthen relationships, support local businesses, and tell the positive story of our community. Simply put, I believe we can accomplish more by growing forward together," Moody added.

In addition, the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors alongside Moody recognized the contributions of outgoing Executive Director Marty Green, who is retiring after eight years of service. Green, who joined the Chamber in 2018 following more than 34 years with Oklahoma State University's Cooperative Extension, was thanked for his leadership and dedication to the Chamber and the Sallisaw community.

Building on the foundation Green established, Moody stated, "I plan to work hard, communicate openly, be visible in our community, and approach this role with energy, optimism, and a servant's heart. " My commitment is to create value for our members while promoting the opportunities that make Sallisaw an exceptional place to live, work, visit, and invest."
