Saturday, August 16, 2025 — Saddles, boots, and a powerful message of hope will come together on Saturday, September 13, when the “Ride Against Suicide” Rodeo Ranch event takes over the Garrison Creek Arena in Muldrow.
The action-packed evening kicks off at 7 p.m., with ranch rodeo events including branding, doctoring, double muggin’, and trailer loading. Teams of four will compete for prizes and awards, with a $200 entry fee per team.
But this event is about more than competition. Attendees will also enjoy a barbecue dinner, silent auction, and vendor booths, along with opportunities to learn about local mental health resources.
Organizers say the heart of the night is its theme: “Some Days We All Need a Pickup Man.”
“Rodeo is about teamwork and pulling each other up,” organizers shared. “This event is our way of bringing the community together to shine a light on suicide prevention and remind people they’re never alone.”
Vendor spaces are still available for $25; however, booths are complimentary for mental health providers. Food vendors will not be permitted.
The effort continues the following day, with a community cleanup at the arena on Sunday, September 14, starting at noon. Pitching in is a chance to support the cause while earning valuable community service hours for students and volunteers alike.
