Railroad Crossing Work Scheduled for Thursday in Sallisaw

Wednesday, September 2, 2026- Motorists in Sallisaw are being advised to prepare for possible traffic delays on Thursday, September 3, as railroad crossing work is scheduled to take place as part of the US-59 Improvement Project.

According to information shared by the City of Sallisaw, work is expected to begin at daylight and could continue throughout the day.

During the construction, traffic signals will be flashing, and drivers should expect delays in the area. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and use an alternate route if possible.

The project information was shared as part of the ongoing US-59 Improvement Project and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation project.

Drivers traveling through the area on Thursday are encouraged to allow extra time and remain alert for changing traffic conditions and construction activity.
