Point-in-Time Count Brings Day of Caring Outreach to Sallisaw

Friday, January 16, 2026 — A Day of Caring event will be held in Sallisaw as part of the 2026 Point-in-Time (PIT) Count on Friday, January 23, at Sallisaw First Assembly of God.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Community members are invited to enjoy a meal, learn about local resources, connect with caring individuals, and receive complimentary items to take home.

The PIT Count is a nationwide effort designed to provide a snapshot of homelessness within local communities. The information collected helps agencies better understand community needs, improve services, reduce homelessness, and qualify for grants and additional funding.

The Northeast Oklahoma Continuum of Care is organizing the local 2026 PIT Count. Community members interested in getting involved or with questions may email northeastokcoc@gmail.com or visit www.neocaa.org/northeastokcoc for more information.

The Sallisaw First Assembly of God church is located at 514 W. Cherokee St.
