Sunday, December 26, 2021 - An unidentified man was struck and killed Christmas night while walking along an Adair County highway.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), William Sanders, 20, of Stilwell was driving a Ford F250 on State Highway 51, 6.7 miles west of Stilwell, when he struck the man. The accident occurred around 11 p.m.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene from head injuries. Neither Sanders nor a 12-year-old male juvenile passenger were injured.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
