This free, fun-filled event is designed for pet lovers of all ages, offering a variety of activities to celebrate the special bond between people and their animals.
The day will begin with a free pet vaccination clinic at the GRDA stage on the library lawn from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. or until supplies run out. Pet owners are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to keep their furry companions healthy and protected.
Following the clinic, expert trainers from Black Diamond Canine Assisted Learning and Scott Mayfield of Rising Star Farms will lead a series of free dog training sessions. The schedule includes:
9:30 a.m. – Leash Fundamentals
10:00 a.m. – Stop & Recall
10:30 a.m. – Playtime
11:00 a.m. – Obstacle Course Contest
Noon Awards & Certifications
One of the festival's most anticipated events is the pet pageant, taking place at the Pocket Park from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Adorable pets will compete in categories such as Best Behaved, Best Dressed, Most Talented, and Best of Show, with prizes awarded to the top contenders.
For those who love hands-on animal experiences, don’t miss the Small Animal Petting Exhibit hosted by Herbaria Highlands, where visitors of all ages can interact with a variety of small critters.
And of course, no festival is complete without great food and shopping! Throughout the day, browse local pet-friendly vendors offering unique products, tasty treats, and valuable pet services to spoil your beloved companions. Meanwhile, The Pink Pig food truck will be serving up delicious Indian tacos and funnel cakes from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Whether attendees bring their pets or simply want to enjoy a day surrounded by animals, Pawsitive Pets promises to be a celebration of companionship, community, and all things furry.
