OSU Rural Renewal Scholar Seeks Community Input Through Regional Survey

Thursday, June 11, 2026 —Juliana Cueva, an Oklahoma State University Rural Renewal Scholar, is seeking input from residents across eastern Oklahoma to help better understand the experiences, needs, and priorities of rural communities.

Juliana Cueva, a graduate student and Rural Renewal Scholar with Oklahoma State University, is conducting research this summer in Adair, Cherokee, Haskell, McIntosh, Muskogee, Okmulgee, Sequoyah, and Wagoner Counties. The project aims to gather feedback from rural residents that can help inform future programs, resources, and initiatives designed to strengthen communities throughout the region.

Community members who are 18 years of age or older are invited to participate in an anonymous survey that takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Researchers aim to gather broad community input to ensure the study represents local voices.

Researchers will use the collected information to identify community strengths, challenges, and priorities across rural Oklahoma. Findings from the survey may help guide future efforts focused on economic development, community well-being, and access to resources.

As an incentive, participants may choose to enter a drawing for a $50 Visa gift card. One winner will be selected from each geographic zone in August. Any contact information submitted for the drawing will be kept separate from survey responses to maintain participant anonymity.
