Sunday, May 24, 2026 —As temperatures rise and summer officially begins, families across Sequoyah County now have a new place to cool off with the opening of the Stanley H. Collins Aquatics Center in Sallisaw.
Located at 700 N. Elm Street, the brand-new aquatic facility is opening just in time for the Memorial Day holiday weekend, joining pools, splash pads, and water parks across the state as popular destinations for summer fun.
City officials say the new aquatics center offers a fresh recreational opportunity for residents of all ages and is expected to become a gathering place for families throughout the summer months.
Daily admission prices are structured to make visits affordable for families. Children under the age of two are admitted for free. Admission for the first child (ages 2–12) is $3, with each additional child in that age group costing $2. Teenagers ages 13-16 are $4, while admission for guests 17 and older is $5. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Season passes are also available. A single-person season pass costs $40, while a family pass for one adult and two children of any age is $80. Additional family members can be added for an extra fee, including $15 for children ages 2-12, $20 for teenagers ages 13-16, and $30 for additional adults ages 17 and older. Officials noted that all fees are non-refundable.
The aquatics center will also offer private parties on select evenings throughout the summer. Private pool rentals are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., subject to the pool manager's availability and the presence of a minimum of two lifeguards. The cost is $400 per event for a two-hour maximum rental and includes use of the pool only.
City officials are also asking the public for patience during the facility’s first season of operation. Because the aquatics center is brand new not only to the community but also to many staff members and lifeguards, there may be occasional adjustments and minor issues as operations get underway.
Despite the anticipated learning curve, residents are eagerly preparing to enjoy summer at one of Sallisaw's newest attractions.
