Wednesday, October 27, 2021 - An established multi-state business is considering Sallisaw as the location of its next expansion. The outbound call center would bring 125-175 jobs to the area if Sallisaw is chosen.
The City of Sallisaw is working with the unnamed company to help determine if there is a large enough employment base, according to Sallisaw Economic Development Director George Bormann.
According to company officials they will offer paid training; health, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off (PTO); 401K; referral bonuses; and attendance and commission bonuses. The median salary will be between $12-$13 an hour.
"One of the most exciting things about this company is that they will offer work-from-home options to employees with reliable internet within the first 30 days of employment," Bormann said.
In order to gauge interest a survey page has been created to gather information for the next ten days. Residents interested in employment should visit the page and complete a short, five question form. The analytics gathered will be provided to the company and then used in their determination.
Bormann said that after the ten day data gathering period the city expects to hear "very quickly" from the company regarding their decision.
"We are willing to help in any way we can to encourage this company to come to Sallisaw," Bormann said. "We want to put our best foot forward."
Anyone interested in employment can complete the short informational survey at www.sallisawjobs.com.
