Tuesday, October 18, 2022 - A Muldrow woman is facing a felony drug charge, according to court records.
Starla Marie Bedford, 39, was charged with the unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute (methamphetamine), which carries a penalty punishable by up to five years in the Department of Corrections and a fine of up to $20,000.
On Oct, 5, a Sequoyah County sheriff’s deputy observed a gray Toyota Camry traveling north on South Kerr Boulevard in Sallisaw with an inoperable driver-side taillight. The vehicle turned west onto Cherokee Avenue then pulled into the turning lane without using a turn signal. The vehicle stopped shortly after the deputy initiated a traffic stop.
The driver, Bedford, said she was on her way home to get her driver’s license and insurance.
A search of Bedford’s car revealed a small plastic bag containing a white, crystalline substance.
