Muldrow man shot and killed Saturday


Monday, January 31, 2022 - An alleged domestic dispute between two brothers-in-law ended in the shooting death of a Muldrow man.


According to officials, Joe Shamblin was shot and killed during the altercation on Saturday, January 29.


The shooting occurred at the residence of the suspected shooter just outside of Muldrow.


Sequoyah County deputies were called to the scene but the investigation was taken over by the Federal Bureau of Investigation due to Shamblin being Native American.


Shamblin was a former employee of the City of Muldrow and had served as the Muldrow Fire Chief and was a former reserve officer.


No other information is being released at this time.
