Muldrow couple faces drug charges

Wednesday, February 8, 2023 - A Muldrow couple is facing multiple drug charges according to court records. Felony arrest warrants were issued Feb. 3 for Bill Gibson, 61, and Sherri Gibson, 52.

The couple were each charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance – including possession with intent to distribute oxycodone – and they also face two other felony charges: acquiring proceeds from drug activity and unlawful use of a communication facility.

If the Gibsons are convicted, they could face more than 20 years in prison.

On Jan. 18, according to a probable cause affidavit, a sheriff’s deputy helped execute a state search warrant at the Gibsons’ residence.

During the search, deputies discovered a bottle of oxycontin in Bill Gibson’s name in the master bedroom, along with a safe that contained $1,320. A purse belonging to Sherri Gibson was found to contain $164 and a drawer in the master bedroom was found with $421 inside it.

As the search continued, Sherri Gibson told deputies that she had been selling her prescription oxycontin for about 6 months to a year. She noted that she makes $800 per month from disability.

Sherri Gibson said she and her husband each receive 120 oxycontin pills per month from a Fort Smith doctor. She said the two use her bottle of oxycontin first, then start on his medication.
