Mason Brignac Named National Runner-Up at NSDA National Tournament

Saturday, June 21, 2025 – Mason Brignac, a 2025 graduate of Muldrow High School (MHS), has made history at the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA) National Tournament by earning the title of National Runner-Up in Prose Reading, the highest finish ever achieved by an MHS Speech and Debate competitor.
Brignac took the national stage in Des Moines, Iowa, on Friday, June 20, at 1:30 p.m., competing in the Prose Reading finals against the top student performers in the country. Out of more than 500 competitors nationwide, Brignac advanced to the Top 6 and ultimately earned second place in the nation.
Representing not only Muldrow High School but also the state of Oklahoma, Brignac’s performance brought both pride and national recognition to the MHS community.
The NSDA National Tournament is the largest academic competition in the world, attracting thousands of students from across the country. Brignac’s remarkable finish is a testament to his exceptional talent, unwavering preparation, and deep passion for performance.
