Friday, October 22, 2021 - The Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce recently released their “2021” holiday calendar of events. Be sure you mark your calendar so you don’t miss out on all the fun!!
Nov. 11 Annual Veteran’s Day and flag retirement ceremony - The ceremony will take place on Thursday, 11 a.m., at the Sequoyah County Fairgrounds.
Nov. 13 & 14 Annual Merchant’s Christmas Open House - Saturday 12-8 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m. This great event features merchants throughout the community opening the doors of their businesses with lots of treats, door prizes, holiday sales and new items on display.
Nov. 13 Shop Sallisaw Campaign Begins - This is an opportunity for Sallisaw shoppers to win cash prizes. Save your receipts because the more you shop, the more chances you have to win.
Nov. 18 Annual Christmas Lighting - The Chamber will be keeping their tradition with the lighting of all Christmas lights throughout the city, Thursday at 6 p.m., on the library lawn. Don’t forget about Santa who will be located on the GRDA stage waiting to hear all about your children’s Christmas wishes.
Nov. 22 Christmas parade and storefront decorating forms are ready for pick up- Contact the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce to receive your forms. The “2021” Christmas parade theme will be “Hometown Christmas”. There is no special theme required for storefront decorating, but you are encouraged to use your imagination!
Nov. 25 Thanksgiving Day!
Dec. 10 Christmas parade forms are due - Turn forms into the chamber office by 12 p.m. Every entry must have a form, not just floats!
Dec. 10 Storefront Decorating entries are due - Turn in storefront entries at the chamber office. Judging will be held Monday, December, 13. Make sure to leave your lights on!
Dec. 11 Shop Sallisaw Giveaway - Event takes place on the library lawn, 4:30 p.m., which is where you will bring your receipts and register to win at the GRDA stage. This is a cash giveaway, and you must be present to win.
Dec. 11 Annual Christmas Parade - Line up at 5:30 p.m. on Choctaw Street. Parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. Float entries will be divided into categories as noted; business, school, school organizations, churches and non-profits. The Mix 105.1 will be broadcasting the parade live on Facebook and MixTV.
