Marble City Farmers and Art Market to Host Annual Hot Pepper Eating Contest

Wednesday, September 16, 2026 – Think you can handle the heat? The Marble City Farmers and Art Market is inviting brave participants to put their taste buds to the test during its fourth annual Hot Pepper Eating Contest.
The event will be held Saturday, September 26, beginning at noon at the Event Pavilion, located at 112 North Main Street in Marble City.
Participants will face various hot peppers, including cayenne, habanero, ghost peppers, and the hottest pepper in the contest, the Carolina Reaper.
Prizes will be awarded to the first- and second-place finishers, allowing contestants to claim the crown and bragging rights for their ability to handle the heat.
Registration must be completed by 10 a.m. the day of the contest. Those interested in participating can sign up by contacting Market Manager Donna Brackett at 918-817-9303.
The peppers will be provided by Marble City Farmers and Art Market vendors Mizzfits Produce, Adventurers Guild, and Rose Farms.
Because these peppers are extremely hot, every participant will be required to read and sign a waiver before competing. Relief will also be provided for participants after they bow out or win the contest.
Participants are asked to notify MCFAM of any dairy allergies when registering.
