Friday, September 19, 2025 — The Marble City Farmers and Art Market (MCFAM) is hosting the 3rd annual “Can You Take the Heat?” hot pepper eating contest. This spicy competition is set to take place at noon on Saturday, September 20, at the Event Pavilion, 112 N. Main St., in Marble City.
Participants will face an intense lineup of peppers, including ghost, cayenne, habanero, and the famously fiery Carolina Reaper. The top two finishers will receive prizes, with the ultimate winner crowned as the market’s hottest competitor.
For safety, all entrants must sign a waiver and disclose any dairy allergies. Registration closes at 10 a.m. on the day of the contest, and relief will be provided for participants who bow out after the winner is announced.
The hot pepper challenge is just one part of the market’s offerings. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., visitors can explore a variety of local goods, such as handmade jewelry, quilted coin wallets, wristlet lanyards, ribbon skirts, handcrafted knives, jerky, fresh produce, homemade salsa, and more.
For more information or to register for the contest, contact Donna at 918-817-9303.
