Local Naturalist and Author Priscilla Crawford to Speak at Library

Monday, September 1, 2026 — Local readers and nature enthusiasts are invited to join the Stanley W. Tubbs Memorial Library on Wednesday, September 9, at noon for a special book review luncheon featuring author Priscilla Crawford, author of A Naturalist’s Guide to Oklahoma.

The luncheon will be held in the library’s meeting room. The library will provide a free lunch, but reservations are required to attend.

Published by the University of Oklahoma Press, Crawford’s book offers the first comprehensive exploration of Oklahoma’s diverse ecoregions. A professional biologist, Crawford highlights the remarkable natural diversity found throughout the state, from its varied landscapes and ecosystems to the plants and wildlife that can be found right in Oklahomans’ own backyards.

The book is beautifully illustrated with photographs showcasing Oklahoma’s natural treasures and the unique biodiversity found across the state.

Following the luncheon, Crawford will host a public book signing from 1 to 3 p.m. Copies of A Naturalist’s Guide to Oklahoma will be available for purchase and signing.

Those wishing to attend the luncheon can register online at eols.librarycalendar.com or by calling the library at 918-775-4481.

The Stanley W. Tubbs Memorial Library, a branch of the Eastern Oklahoma Library System, is located at 101 E. Cherokee Ave. in Sallisaw.
