Saturday, August 30, 2025 – Governor Kevin Stitt has appointed Kodey Toney, Director of the Pervasive Parenting Center, to serve as Chair of the Developmental Disabilities Council of Oklahoma (DDCO).
The DDCO works to promote inclusion, independence, and opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities across the state of Oklahoma. As Chair, Toney will lead the Council’s efforts to enhance services, shape public policy, and foster collaboration among agencies, families, and communities.
Toney brings more than a decade of experience in advocacy, education, and program development for children and young adults with disabilities. Through his leadership at the Pervasive Parenting Center, he has championed initiatives that support families in rural eastern Oklahoma, offering resources such as parent training, advocacy in schools, transition programs, social groups, and inclusive community events.
In addition to his professional work, Toney is the father of a young adult with autism, which has shaped his passion for disability advocacy and given him a personal understanding of the challenges families face.
“I am honored to be appointed by Governor Stitt to hold this important role,” said Toney. “The DDCO can make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oklahomans with developmental disabilities. I look forward to working with families, professionals, and policymakers to ensure that every individual has the opportunity to thrive.”
“Kodey brings both professional expertise and lived experience as a parent and advocate,” said Executive Director of the Developmental Disabilities Council of Oklahoma, Jen Randle. “His leadership will be instrumental in advancing our mission to create a more inclusive Oklahoma where people with developmental disabilities have every opportunity to succeed.”
The Developmental Disabilities Council of Oklahoma serves as a vital voice for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. With Toney’s appointment as Chair, the Council will continue advancing efforts to remove barriers, promote employment and education opportunities, and build more inclusive communities across Oklahoma.
