Thursday, June 2, 2022 - The Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce held their monthly membership meeting on May 25 at Carl Albert State College in Sallisaw. Chamber board president Treye Girdner began the meeting with announcements regarding annual events.
"The City of Sallisaw’s 2022 fireworks show will take place on July 4 at Sallisaw High School. The show will begin once it becomes dark, which is typically around 9:30–9:40 pm," Girdner said.
The President of the Lions Club, Marley Abel, provided an update on the upcoming rodeo. Abel said, "The seventy-eighth annual rodeo will be held August 4, 5, and 6 this year. If you would like to sponsor the rodeo, feel free to contact myself or any other Lions Club member."

Girdner introduced and provided background information on May’s Chamber Member of the Month. MGS Construction was this month’s recipient of the award due to their outstanding dedication and hard work they effortlessly put into the community.
This month’s keynote speaker was district one engineer with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT), Chris Wallace. Wallace discussed the various projects that are currently underway throughout the county, along with timelines of potential completion dates.
