KXMX receives statewide award for community service

Wednesday, April 26, 2023 - The Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters (OAB) recently honored KXMX, The Mix 105.1 as the recipient of the 2022 OAB Community Service Award.


The OAB Community Service Award recognizes member radio and television stations for their outstanding community service projects. According to the OAB, "the purpose of the award is to spotlight the tremendous job the Oklahoma radio and television stations do for their local communities."


"We are very honored to be recognized for community service. We have always believed that serving our community and working to be a positive force in our area should be one of our top priorities," owner Darren Girdner said. "We have a wonderful team that includes not only our broadcasters but also sales, news and IT staff. It takes all of us working together to make what we do possible."


“It’s an honor to be recognized for supporting our community,” stated Program Director Justin Pettit.


The OAB represents the radio and television industry across the state of Oklahoma.
